Welcome to
International Symposium on Optics and Photonics (ISOP)2025 and
International Workshop on Optics, Biology, and Related Technologies (IWOB) 2025 !

We are pleased to announce that Center for Optical Research and Education (CORE), Utsunomiya University, Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Institute of Post-LED Photonics, Tokushima University, and the Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries have decided to enter into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote cooperation and collaboration for the development of optical science and engineering, and the optical industry. To commemorate this agreement, we will hold the "International Symposium on Optics and Photonics (ISOP)" at the MINEGAOKA Auditorium on the Mine Campus of Utsunomiya University as the kickoff international conference for the collaboration among the four universities.
    Since 2021, CORE, Utsunomiya University has been hosting the International Workshop on Optics, Biology, and Related Technologies (IWOB) in collaboration with overseas partner institutions continuously for five years. This initiative has been funded through Utsunomiya University’s Education and Research Hub budget for the International Industry-Academia Collaboration of Optical Engineering, allowing for the invitation of several overseas participants and online lectures. Researchers from around the world have been invited, primarily focusing on the 11 partner institutions within the Utsunomiya University Global Network (UU-GON) located in the U.S., Germany, France, India, Mexico, China, Thailand, and Brazil.
    In this time, we aim to expand the IWOB into a broader initiative, where the four collaborating universities in this field. Additionally, by involving young researchers from the four universities as organizing committee members, we aspire to cultivate future leaders by providing researchers who have not previously engaged in international conference management with operational experience and opportunities to interact with overseas researchers.
    The oral presentations will be exclusively invited talks, while general and student presentations will be organized into poster sessions to facilitate in-depth discussions. We will also allocate ample time for interactions between young researchers from the four universities and overseas researchers through social events, aiming to deepen exchanges among participants.

宇都宮大学オプティクス教育研究センター（CORE）、静岡大学電子工学研究所、徳島大学ポストLEDフォトニクス研究所、そして光産業創成大学院大学の4機関は、光科学・光工学および光産業の発展に向けた連携と協力を推進するため、包括的連携に関する覚書（MOU）を締結することとなりました。この協定を記念し、4大学による国際連携のキックオフ国際会議として、宇都宮大学 峰キャンパス・峰ヶ丘講堂において「International Symposium on Optics and Photonics（ISOP）」 を開催いたします。
  宇都宮大学COREでは、2021年より海外の協定校と連携し、International Workshop on Optics, Biology, and Related Technologies（IWOB）を継続的に開催してきました。この取組は、宇都宮大学「光工学国際産学連携教育研究拠点予算」による支援を受け、海外研究者の招聘やオンライン講演を実現してきたものです。これまでに、米国、ドイツ、フランス、インド、メキシコ、中国、タイ、ブラジルなど、宇都宮大学グローバルネットワーク（UU-GON）に所属する11のパートナー機関を中心に、世界各国から研究者を招待してきました。
  今回、これまでのIWOBをさらに発展させ、4大学による広範な国際連携の枠組みとして展開することを目指します。また、若手研究者を実行委員として積極的に参画させることで、国際会議の運営経験や海外研究者との交流の機会を提供し、次世代を担うリーダー人材の育成を図ります。
  口頭発表は招待講演のみとし、一般発表および学生発表はポスターセッション形式で実施します。ポスター発表では、若手研究者や学生と海外研究者がじっくりと議論できるよう十分な交流時間を設け、それぞれを理解し新たな連携を促進します。
